At times, interpersonal differences prevent co-workers from functioning effectively together. Mediation, integrated with coaching techniques, can be very effective in getting those employees to a state of working together harmoniously.
The Core Leadership Group’s Certified Coach Mediators will begin by meeting with each person individually to understand the issues from their point of view. During these one-on-one meetings, we will spend time on conflict coaching to assist the parties in adjusting their communication styles and ways of approaching conflict.
CLG Coach Mediators will engage conflict resolution strategies, which involve techniques to reduce feelings of resentment and discontent, in an effort to help the disagreeing parties focus on the main issues and come up with a mutually acceptable agreement going forward.
According to Dan Dana, former President of the Mediation Trainer Institute, “Unmanaged conflict is the largest reducible cost in organizations today and the least recognized.” Working with a Coach Mediator will be the first step in mitigating the potential for workplace disengagement and decreased productivity due to unresolved conflict amongst co-workers and in the midst of teams.
